Shariah Committee |
|

These are the individuals who guide, motivate and manage us in strict accordance to the Shariah.
HSBC Amanah Takaful works closely with an independent Shariah Committee comprising of scholars to ensure that our products and operations meet the requirements of the Shariah (Islamic Law). The endorsement of this Committee is critical to our legitimacy as a provider of takaful products.

Dr. Mohammad Akram Laldin |

The Head of Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh Department, Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage at International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM). He is a graduate of University of Jordan, and is a Ph.D. holder in Islamic Law from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He has been teaching Islamic Law in IIUM since 1989. He was also a Visiting Assistant Professor in University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates from September 2002 to July 2004. His academic contributions include various papers on Islamic Law, among others: “The Doctrine of Prohibition of Riba and Gharar in Islamic Law”, “Shariah Principle in Islamic Banking and Finance”, “Legal Maxims in Islamic Banking and Finance”, “Bai’ al-Inah and its Contemporary Application in Islamic Bank of Malaysia”, and “The Concept of Profit in Islamic Commercial Law and Conventional Law”. |

Dr. Rusni Hassan |

An assistant professor of Law at International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM). She is a graduate of Kulliyyah of Law IIUM and also holds Ph.D. in Law from the same university. She has been teaching Law and Islamic commercial Law at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws IIUM since 1993. She also taught in the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya on part time basis in 1996-1997. She has written a number of research papers on Islamic Finance which include: “Termination of Contractual Liabilities in Commercial Transactions”, “Lapse of Time in Commercial Dealings: The Islamic Perspective”, “Islamic Concept of Debt: Debt Settlement”, and “Dispute Settlement in Islamic Commercial Dealings”. |

Encik Khairul Anuar Ahmad |

A lecturer at Faculty of Management & Muamalah, Selangor International Islamic University since 1999. He is a graduate of Academy of Islamic Studies (Shariah Division) of University of Malaya and holds a Master in Shariah from the same university. His academic contributions are mainly papers which include: “Futures Market: A Comparative Study”, “SARS: Its Effects on Malaysian Economy”, “ Calculation Manual for Zakat in Business/Trading”, and “Shariah Issues in Islamic Banking and Finance”. |
